I sang at the Sunset Jazz Jam at Acton Jazz Cafe this evening with Warren and Steve backing me up along with guitarist Steve Berke and drummer Sergei Ioannisyan from the Cafe's house band for the evening. What a blast! We performed Angel Eyes and Little Sunflower and got quite a nice response afterward, including from bass player Bob McHenry who was in the crowd and later performed with some other singers. It was great to see a man like that, well up in his years, getting up and making incredible music on his acoustic bass and still having a grand time doing so! We plan to get back to the jam soon.
